Emeriti Benefits

Permits for retired IU employees may be purchased online through IU Parking Operations or in person at the Parking Operations Office, located in the Henderson Garage. Retirees are eligible to purchase an EM/RE permit, which is an EM-P (employee premium) permit, at the price of an EM-S (employee standard) permit. For an updated cost of the annual EM/RE permit, please contact Parking Operations at 812-855-9848 or email parking@indiana.edu.

  • Eligible to join the IU Retirees Association.
  • Retain IU Library system privileges and IU email account.
  • Membership in the University Club, paid for by the campus. Visit the University Club website for details or call 812-855-1325.
  • All emeriti faculty and librarians may participate in Emeriti House programs and services and automatically receive electronically the program calendar. All retired IU staff members are also invited to join the listserv (Email: emeriti@indiana.edu). Free parking is provided for program attendees in the nearby Atwater Garage.

Those with a current Indiana University Crimson Card ID may purchase IU football and IU men’s basketball season tickets at the same 10 percent discount available to active employees. To receive the 10 percent discount, email your name, IU ID number, and the department you retired from, to iuticket@indiana.edu.

Admission to athletic events other than football and men’s basketball is the same as for active faculty and staff employees.

Priority points that affect seating assignments for the IU football and men's basketball games are retained in accordance with the IU Athletics Priority Points Policy.

  • Purchase IU software (faculty retirees) and hardware (faculty and staff retirees) at a discount, subject to vendor agreements and policy. Learn more on the IU Knowledge Base website.
  • Access to recreation and sports facilities at rates equal to those of current faculty and staff (e.g., SRSC, Intramural Center, IU Outdoor Pool, and IU Tennis Center). See membership details on the IU Recreational Sports website.

  • Home delivery of the Indiana Daily Student (contact 812-855-0763).
  • Quarterly delivery of IU Alumni Magazine for IU Alumni (contact 812-855-4822).
  • Retirees may register for IT Training Workshops at no charge, and may also download materials and exercise files for self-study at no cost (contact 812-855-7383 or email ittraining@iu.edu). For more information visit the IU Knowledge Base website.
  • Free use of the Campus Bus System and, with the Crimson Card ID (free), the Bloomington Transit buses.
